What’s This Site ABOUT?

Saskboy is a computer scientist who comments on news, as well as movies, and his thoughts. Photography, politics, preserving humankind, and having fun are just a few of the things he likes to do and share online. He often writes to be funny, and wrote this bio in the third person to make it seem at first as if he had someone else endorsing this site. He’s currently living in Regina, Saskatchewan Canada.

Blogging Timeline:

I’ve been blogging since 2002 when I was living in Ottawa and wanted an easy and fun way to send news and pictures to both family and friends. I spent a lot of time on eBay help forums back then, and learned how to sell things on eBay which led to my most famous invention: Pet Foil Hat Technology. Selling fad items on eBay still interests me, and I give it a whirl now and then but haven’t duplicated the widespread appeal of cute animals in foil hats.

While in Ottawa I bought my digital camera, which has taken 95% of the photos you see on this blog. Oddly enough, the photo of me below was taken with a film camera, and it’s one of my favourites from my first trip to New York in 2002, just nine months after the September 11th attack there.

Since that photo, I’ve finished my degree in Computer Science at the University of Regina, with Co-operative Education Program endorsement. I’ve moved away from my hometown of Wood Mountain, Saskatchewan, and have lived in Yorkton while working for the Regional Library system repairing computers and maintaining their networks.

I’m a cyclist commuter, computer repairman, Star Trekkie geek, political thinker, barely a drinker, Slashdotter, Farker, eBayer, and completely socially unacceptable.

From my unique perspective located in the middle of nowhere, I can easily see everywhere there is something, somewhere.
