Captain Insaino Man video
It began as an idea around the cafeteria dinner table, and turned into a two minute video clip that changed lives. Okay, no lives were changed, but it was still a fun evening of writing, shooting, and editing. My friends credited as Phobos, Emperor, and El Diablo made this video possible, mostly because it was an essential lab assignment for both Phobos and Emperor. The scenery is entirely on the University of Regina campus and especially Luther College Residence where we all were living at the time.
See Captain Insaino Man - the video - here. A DivX version is also available if you can’t play WMV files on your computer, so please send Saskboy or EmperorInsaino an email at Hotmail.com. [The video is 11MB big which means it will take a 2 minutes on Broadband connections, or an hour to download on 56K dial-up modems]
Some side notes about the video:
- Captain Insaino Man the actor does not actually jump from any high places. We constructed a dummy from a balloon, ski mask, news papers, pillow, clothing, bed sheet, staples, and safety pins.
- Emperor is the actual inspiration of Captain Insaino Man climbing walls.
- Watch for people’s heads peeking around a corner in “The Pit” scene.
- It took several takes to get Captain Insaino Man the dummy, to jump successfully onto the stairs. Several times the dummy fell in more than one piece, which although a comical blooper, didn’t make for a convincing jump.
- Wierd Al didn’t authorize the use of his spoof song for the video, but he’s such a great and cool guy who’s sold me many CDs, that I figured he’d not mind the free publicity from a freely distributed video clip. Someone has to give him his big break into stardom after all.
- Captain Insaino Man’s video is entirely free, so if you gave someone your credit card number to view it, you’ve probably been ripped off.

[…] Hello loyal, and hapenstance readers. Today I added a page with a video clip I made with friends a few years ago back in university. It’s available on the Captain Insaino Man Video link over on the sidebar. I also noticed while adding my new title bar graphic at the top of the pages, that Internet Explorer incorrectly displays my sidebar at the bottom of the page after my blog entries. So if you’ve been wondering why my blog looks broken, it’s because you’re using a broken web browser, and should upgrade to Firefox I’ll fix the code eventually I hope so Internet Explorer works too, but you’ll like Firefox better anyway if you add the right extensions or Add-Ons to it. Some of my favourites are: […]

Cool. One of my all-time favorite songs! But I thought Captain Insano was a wrestler on The Waterboy……
