When Kate says “Open thread”, that means open to anyone but Saskboy. She actually deleted my last one or two comments and asked me to leave after I brought up a supposed joke in one of her past editorials regarding drug use. (http://www.smalldeadanimals.com/archives/009726.html)
Not only did she comment on “not noticing” that I left being a regular commenter on her site after a string of poor taste blog posts, she and her readers apparently don’t care to hear opposing views. Go figure.

no, it isn’t that they disallow only-YOU, it’s that the Devoutly Ignorant disallow non-conforming diversity.
I’ve discovered that Racialicious.com does this, too.
Comical, since they apparently exist to oppose exactly that…
In MY culture, Truth has rights.

Oh, I know she’s banned others, she’s bragged to me about it before even; Bragged about banning and blocking people. Given that she has such a large an mostly unreadable website anyway, due to the sheer volume of comments in any given day, it’s surprising she bothers to try to shape the comment section beyond just offering her leading headlines and articles. I don’t think I would have enough time in the day to do it, if it were my site.

I can’t handle her web site. The comment section is full of gross, ignorant commentary. I should ban myself from visiting that site. Yuck.

It’s too bad some high-profile bloggers have so little interest in attempting to remain transparent. Or in attempting to give the *appearance* of being transparent.
It shreds what little credibility they have into even tinier pieces.
But, are any of us surprised? SDA has been a “me-and-my-friends-and-everyone-else-stay-out” little clubhouse for awhile now. Which is sad, because it didn’t always used to be that way.
