Thank goodness for the Access to Information Act. Do you too think Harper will find a way to shut that check and balance down if he gets a majority of seats?

From the Green Party press release.
Impolitical makes some points too, as does Ocean.
When even the Sun chain talks about May’s questioning of Harper, you know it’s a big issue.

Harper doesn’t need a majority to shut that check & balance down. If he wins with a minority he will rule as a majority - knowing full well his govt. won’t be brought down because there’s no money left in the coffers of the other parties to have another election for a long time. And the Cons have a ton of money in theirs & will have lots left over after this election.
That’s why it’s so very, very important that he & his goons not get re-elected.

The secret report is dated January 16, 2007 when crude oil was $42 a barrel. Now it is $92 a barrel, which means we already have a carbon tax. Just not a government carbon tax. Please make sure you put all these pro carbon tax claims in the correct context. FYI there are approx 7.2 barrels per tonne. So if you know how much carbon is in a tonne of crude you can work out the impact on the cost of a tonne of crude.
