Last night was a frost warning from the forecast. Supposed to be between -1 and +1 C. I have to go uncover what I did manage to cover, in a few minutes. I picked some beats, an onion, a bell pepper, potatoes, tomatoes, purple and green beans, squash, and zucchini.

Last night about 11:45 PM, I heard that it could go down to +1 here so I had to make a quick decision to either rip up some old sheets and cover all my flowers or just say ‘ta hell with it’ … I chose the latter and decided to take my chances. When I woke up at 7:00 AM, I got up to let the dogs out and took a look at the outside thermometer and it said +3 … and the flowers looked okay.
Typical Saskatchewan people aren’t we, trying to wring the last few pleasures of summer out of our gardens before that big killer frost comes along!
Cheers!

That’s why we picked our Apple Tree yesterday. Got 6 ice cream pails full. First year we have ever had that many Apples. Not sure what we will do with them all. maybe make some apple juice and other baked goodies
