I picked up just a couple tomato plants, and not the beef stake ones like last year that didn’t produce. Granted, they weren’t in full sun last year, so maybe they didn’t stand a chance. In any case, this time it’s a try with an ultra-sweet, and some other that produces supposedly in under 70 days. They go into the garden on Sunday — that’s the plan anyway. If they work, I’ll have tomatoes for under $3.

Saturday I had a nice night out, and went to the Mongolie Grill and it was good. It was my first time there, and I had the process with the food selection strategy, and weighing explained to me. Then me and my date made it to the Galaxy in time to catch “What Happens in Vegas” [8/10] which has probably started a bicycle polo craze just by showing it in the movie. It was also obvious that someone who wrote/produced the movie is from Vegas, or owns a casino there, but aside from the obvious advertising it’s a really funny movie.
There was rain in the north end of the city, but I have no idea if it was wet where my garden is in the south. My fingers are crossed that the province gets some even rain soon.

In my opinion there is nothing better than a home grown tomato! Good luck with yours!
My Green Thumb is posted, won’t you join me? Hope your weekend is great so far.

Hope you got some good tomatoes this year. It always surprises me that some nurseries and garden center sell plants that won’t work in the climate where they are being sold. The tomatoes will need a lot of sun, and enough time to ripen before your cold weather comes back. Good luck, and happy GTS,
Aiyana

I spent an hour cleaning up the old onions from last years and planting sweet yellow peppers and purple flowers. Under the rain. I’m really dedicated I guess.

I adore home grown tomatoes. I never buy any from the store anymore, since my taste is spoiled. I have somewhere around 80 plants in the garden, enough for a year’s supply of soup, juice, sauce, stewed tomatoes, and salsa. For my extended family. Plus gifts.

Miss C, I recall you mentioning that you have more tomatoes than you know what to do with. It’s a nice problem to have :-D With just two plants planned, I may not have enough. I may pick up some more this week.
Anni and Aiyana thanks for stopping by.
Zhu, are you not growing any onions? I planted a few today to see how they do.
I need to water a lot this week I think, nothing is coming up yet.
