If the weather holds out, I may do a little planting this weekend. I’ve been neglecting photographs for a while, but I’ve been away on Sundays, so have a pretty good excuse. I went to see my garden plot in the community garden on Grant Rd. and it looks big enough to grow quite a bit. I was advised to not plant potatoes just yet, lest they get frozen off in a June cold snap.

I’m going to garden this year, too, but the rule of thumb around here is to not plant until after the May long weekend, if not the beginning of June. Just too cold at night still. But, our snow hasn’t even melted yet, so I have no idea when the planting will actually take place.

I’ve been waiting for the snow to melt, too. Unfortunately, the forecast calls for more snow for us this week, so I guess no planting for me.
Last year the flooding lasted right into July, so we never even got to plant a garden. Total loss for all grain farmers in my area.
