The actor, Heston, best known to me as a documentary star (Bowling for Columbine), has passed away. He was ill for several years, and the cause of death is not being officially revealed.
He lead the controversial NRA, and famously remarked that the government could take his gun from his “cold dead hands”. Just as Buddy Holly sang “That’ll be the day that I die”, another catch line has caught up with another star. April 6, 2008, is the day the gun left Heston’s hands.

He was best know to me as Moses. Ever seen the Ten Commandments? He was a crusty old bugger and I’m glad he’s gone.

Alzheimers.
I liked his acting but not his politics, and his illness & subsequent death had to have been very ugly for his family, and my heart goes out to them.
