I tried to dig the bike out today. Literally, I dug away at the snow and ice. I gave up, before I damaged anything, and consoled myself with the knowledge that by Easter weekend I may be able to get back into cycling.
So instead of going for a ride (which I wasn’t expecting to get in anyway, because I’d have to do some routine work to get the bike going again) I walked over to the Macs to update my cell phone’s prepaid card. On the way back I saw a genuine Utah plated truck (in front of the Mormon building of course), and heard a transmission in distress. It was a minivan stuck in an icy pothole in front of a coffee shop! How embarrassing is that, to get stuck in a pot hole? I declined to offer to push, since the driver had already darted back inside the coffee shop to ask for help I suppose. Or maybe they were going to let them have it about not maintaining the parking lot.

If you break something on your bike it will cost a lot to fix.

It sure would, it’s a nice bike too. Wrenching on the thing would probably twist a wheel or the pedal out of shape.

I’m looking forward to coming back to Canada… yet I wish the snow would have melt by the time I’m here. I don’t even know if we’re gonna be able to dig our way through the driveway!
