Dear Blog Voters – Nice Try, But Not Quite

The good news is, I can only get better next time, because I didn’t finish in first place in the Bloggies :-)

Also, somehow Blogger beat Wordpress? Seriously?

Good news: PerezHilton.com got beat in several categories, and http://www.crooksandliars.com/ beat Instapundit.

And http://www.dooce.com/ was voted best blog overall.

Sorry man, but that’s a pretty kick-ass looking blog.

Of course once you get past all of the superficial glam you’re stuck with toilet training and baby pics… but still… it looks cool!

I actually don’t care for that style of vintage movie art/pinup girl art. It is even used in another Bloggie winning blog I noticed. But the writing certainly is provocative.

God, I hate Blogger!

A Blogger site needs to be quite good for me to visit regularly. Their comment system is absolutely terrible.

I think Blogger probably won because it is so easy to use that it has brought a lot of people into blogging that would not otherwise be there.

Wordpress still has a pretty steep learning curve.

Yet when you compare the commenting systems, I’d almost always choose Wordpress. Plus, Blogger support is terrible.
