On the weekend I gave an interview to a reporter from the Guelph Mercury. I got her email, replied, and when I got a phone call less than 30 minutes later I was thinking, “I don’t know anyone from that area code,” but picked up the phone anyway. When it wasn’t a telemarketer I was intrigued, and when I realized who it was I felt silly for forgetting she’d be calling.
I pulled myself together though, and went through some facts and highlights of the Canadian Blog Awards, specifically the win of Danielle Takacs for her Best New Blog. I also brought up the unlikely winner of the Best Blog award, a knitting blogger from Ontario. I guess her victory wasn’t so unlikely after all, it was just unexpected by people who hadn’t heard of Stephanie’s blog before.
Here’s a few blogs that may be in the running for a CBA in the 2008 edition.

While I’m blog navel gazing I may as well mention that I dropped 11 places in the Top 25 Canadian Political Blog list, as I somehow managed to drop by a factor of 10 in Google’s PageRank. Yet I’m still a respectable PR4 for the geeks out there who know what that means.
On the weekend I also upgraded WordPress so that it supports tags, and greater security. I also discovered an apparent bug, as a post that was future dated showed up on the main page early (but it was alright, it wasn’t a big secret that laked early at least). My template I’m rebuilding better than it was before, so it isn’t so disturbed by simple upgrades. So a few blogrolls are going unposted until I add them again, hopefully within a few days.

Feb 19, Nash and Raj talk about Regina not being a “three pointer, or a slam dunk”. Yeah, we’re a buzzer beater — way cooler :-D.
