Hi,
I’m wondering what happens now that the Sask Party candidate is not running in Regina Walsh Acres,
Does he remain on the ballot?
If he does, what happens if he wins the vote? Are votes for him counted, or are they spoiled ballots?
——————————————————————————–
It is too late to change the ballots and his name will appear, however any votes for him will be invalid since he is no longer running. They are not counted so he cannot win the vote.
Thank you for your interest in Elections Saskatchewan.

The CTV news said that they would just be counted as a spoiled ballot…… it kind of sucks for sask party voters…. maybe they should put all their votes on the green party and give those guys a voice.

In Ontario … a lot of Conservatives could not vote for their party because of Tory’s promise to fund religious schools and use taxpayers money to teach ‘Creationism’ - many of those disgruntled right wing votes went Green.
Is the Green party soooooooooo desperate for votes that they want these guys to come to your party? There already has been a fairly disturbing connection between the Green Party and Conservatives … look at your last leader before May.
If the Green Party does not get their ethics worked out while they are a new party, then expect the riff raff of the right to move in and run your party.
If Sask Party voters have no one to vote for in Walsh Acres … maybe they should have checked the credentials of their chosen candidate.

Jaybird, if the Sask Party voters cordinate and vote Liberal, there’s a much better chance they’ll defeat the NDP candidate. But a vote for the Greens sends a positive message too.

I read the Green party platform. I didn’t agree with most of it. If I lived in Walsh Acres right now, I would likely slide to the Liberals - they have enough good ideas to deserve a place at the table.
