As I write this, I’m hours away from leaving Boardwalk renting behind me. Thank goodness it only lasted four months. I’ll be crossing my fingers that I get a fair amount of damage-deposit back, although I don’t hold high expectations after every person I’ve mentioned Boardwalk to has had a curse about them muttered under their breath.

This one place (company) we lived in in Edmonton screwed us with our DD as well. One december, I was gone for the whole month, and my roommate was gone for three weeks, but our water usage bill was almost double what it normally was. We shared it with the downstiars neighbours who happened to be the landlords daughter and husband. So, we inquired about it and refused to pay the bill. They said they would look into it. We moved out later for other reasons but they took the balance off our damage deposit which was upwards of 300 dollars. We were pissed but poor so we couldn’t take legal action. Anyhow, just my bitching. Here, in Nova Scotia, we’ve had a good experience with the bigger companies. Very professional.

I lived in Board Walk Townhouses in Saskatoon for over a year. When we moved out they were pretty good about it. Except for little picky things, cleaning light fixtures, burnt out light bulbs, and not cleaning the oven (all things my roomies were supposed to do and were specifically mentioned in the move uot sheet). We had hardwood floors and the couch scrapped the living S*&% out of the floor. So I bought some varnish to try and fix it, made it worse, and upon the walk through he never said anything!! We thought for sure we would lose our damage deposit over that! It was the only walk through I had ever done but the guy was really good with it. Plus he didn’t charge me for hte burned out light bulbs..

When I moved into my suite at Boardwalk, it was disgusting. The floors were all scratched and had stains everywhere. The carpet in the living room had mud stains which appeared to have been there for some time. And there was a big red stain on the carpet. It looked as though no one had cleaned it at all, and it was very dusty. I complained but it didn’t do any good. I’m sure the people that moved out, didn’t clean much of anything. When the stove was pulled out because something was wrong with it, I was aghast at the dust bunnies and even more stains. I don’t think Boardwalk gives a hoot if you leave it dirty when you move out. They did tell me that after 6 months I could request to have the carpets changed, which I think is idiotic considering that it will be a pain in the ass to move all my furniture out. It should have been done before I moved in. I also think it’s hilarious that the grass here is cut every other day yet they don’t water it, what is up with that??????

Boardwalk did well this time. They let me clean out the fridge freezer which we missed, and didn’t ding me for the age old grease burned onto the oven before we got there, but wasn’t marked on the move-in sheet properly as grease INSIDE the oven.

Greedy Boardwalk at Parlament place is worst and they increase rent $85 to $95 every three months. Sask goverment should do something or we will loose population migration to other province. Sask. is cold and expensive and worst mosquitos in summer, then I wouldn’t want to live in expensive and will be moving out where is no PST. Alberta.

Its just too expensive to live in Saskatchewan. Very cold, too many mosquitos, PST and rent going up sky rocket every three months. Time to move out to Albarta. If its same expensive then here then Albert is number one choice. They have surplus and better weahter and Banff very close by for holidays.

That kind of rent increasing is criminal. Boardwalk should be ashamed, they don’t offer any additional quality or service for the huge rent increases, and are making people homeless, or are forcing them to live in poverty.
