- Crazy Horse monument in South Dakota just minutes from Mount Rushmore
The monument is built entirely with money earned through tourism, and no government money is being accepted to complete the decades old project.

Hi Saskboy.
When did you go to the States? My girlfriend and I made pretty much this same trip this summer — nine days that took us down to Deadwood and back up through Pierre and Bismarck.
I wouldn’t mind talking to you about your trip and some of your impressions. I was not very impressed with Crazy Horse — it seemed kind of light on history and more of a make-work project for the artist’s family. And because they’re not taking public money — which isn’t necessarily a bad decision — it’s taken 50 years just to complete the monument’s face. I estimate three times this for the sculpture to be completed. As a comparison, Rushmore was completed in 14 years.
Anyway, It’ll be good to get your comments. :)
