It’s quite the improvement, since Cold Yeller was from the 1970s, and had no real freezer (only an icebox that needed manual defrosting). The new one uses 548kWh of electricity a year, compared to new fridges in Sears that use about 450kWh/year.
You may remember the video I made to get Cold Yeller replaced. Some fellow bloggers even made an effort to oust Cold Yeller.

Offering my deepest condolences on Cold Yeller … I have followed his final stint with you since the contest. It will take a bit of time …. but time does heal.

Oh, there’s not a tear shed here for Cold Yeller. I’m probably saving 20% or more from my SaskPower bill now! :-D

I almost damaged my screwdriver beyond repair doing that. And they say the fridge is the thing most likely to be damaged by ice chipping…
