There’s an NDP MP actually tackling democratic reform (unlike her Saskatchewan NDP blogging counterparts [Yeah that's a partisan dig, so sue me? {Please don't sue me, that was rhetorical.}]).
Dear [Saskboy],
Thank you for supporting the NDP’s campaign for voter equality by signing my online petition. Your participation is essential to the success of M262. I am writing today to invite you to visit my new Voter Equality Action Centre.
The Conservative Minister responsible for Democratic Reform recently confirmed that the Conservatives have contracted out electoral reform to a right-wing think TANK that opposes electoral reform. The contractors will report privately to the Minister, not to Parliament. In short, the Conservative plan for “democratic reform” is nothing more than a corporate giveaway to their right-wing friends.
Canadians deserve better, and the NDP is fighting for a fair and open process of democratic reform. I have asked the Minister to throw out his anti-democratic process and support Motion 262.
Conservatives cannot be trusted with democratic reform. Please visit my website to utilize the tools in the Voter Equality Action Centre. I need your help to spread the word about our campaign for voter fairness.
Thank you!
Catherine Bell, M.P.

Scott Tribe also brings up his take on the issue. Mixed Member Proportional is a pretty good idea I think, too.

I’m hoping this important issue takes precedence over the “wankosphere” navel gazing gripping the Canadian political blogosphere right now about McClelland’s latest comments. Sure bloggers may not get anything accomplished on a normal day, but perhaps we could make an effort not to become the media we mock who get fascinated by Britney Spears shaving her head, or focusing on Ann Coulter’s bigotry for a week after she lets another turd escape her mouth?
And speaking of blog navel gazing, my Technorati rating is hovering around the 4000th most linked-to blog on the Interweb. Yay me. Truth Laid Bear is still broken.

Unrelated: Who seriously searched for this? Any why oh why did they visit my blog after doing that? Is “booys” some way to spell boy now?

“I’m hoping this important issue takes precedence over the “wankosphere” navel gazing gripping the Canadian political blogosphere right now about McClelland’s latest comments” or Jason’ nasty little knifing of McClelland and all the blogging dippers, but we won’t talk about that because it “Sure” is hard for “bloggers … to “get anything accomplished on a normal day.”

Jan I’m not sure I understand the intent of your comment?

Got the letter from Catherine Bell too.
My posts on PR are by far the most popular on Progressive Bloggers.

There’s certainly a lot of interest, given that it has the potential to fix a variety of distortions in our democracy.

They meant “buoys”. I figger they got a problem with buoys goin’ off-course chasin’ after some cute jellyfish.
PR interests wonks. Regular fellers an’ gals go all bleary-eyed if anybuddy starts blatherin’ about electoral reform an’ changin’ the way we done it fer a hunnert an’ some odd years. Sad but true.
The part about the anti-PR think tank ain’t too encouragin’, fer sure.
Nastiness an’ flamin’ wars in the Canajun boogeysphere ain’t the norm where I wander. It’s been quite a spell since I had t’ offer up a JimBobby-flavoured knuckle samwitch.
