The movement to Ban TV, also known as the Teleban, is bigger than I first thought. I discovered a secret chapter of the Teleban hiding on Facebook, a social networking site. There were nearly a dozen members there, unaffiliated with the official Teleban blogroll.
We’re growing, and coming to take your TV. Learn to like YouTube and books, because if you’re Desperate for Housewives, you’re about to lose your Idol.
If you want to join the Teleban, leave a note here, or send Saskboy a Hotmail email so I can add you to the membership roll.
Remember, in order to save the children repeat after me:
“Friends don’t let friends watch Friends.”

Include the following in your Blogger template to show the Teleban Blogroll on your blog. The code should work for other blogging platforms as well.

Or you can just make a link using this tiny code:
[html]

I was able to post the HTML code in my blog without the tags activating, by using a Wordpress plugin called HTML Tag Enabler by Mr. Rath.

i STILL can’t get that blogroll to show up on my blog. Only have the word “teleban”and it doesn’t link. grrrrr. I must be missing a punctuation mark or something silly.

The code problems are partly my fault as I’ve not looked for a way to make them easily copied as I paste them into the blog. If I do paste it right in, I think Wordpress chokes because it tries to decode it, instead of showing them as they are. Maybe if I block quote them.. naw probably won’t work. Might try…
It’s all that xhref=”” junk that gets inserted, doing it wrong

Rosie,
I pulled the code off Dodosville’s blog. Given he is on Blogger, I figured it would work on my blog as well.
What should we do with all these TV’s we are taking from people? Our TV in the family room works as a plant stand.

I’m testing posting the code, with some extra blockquote tags.

Zataod, SARCAN in my province is recycling TVs now, but only if they were bought here, so that won’t work for most people. A better idea is to leave it unplugged in the corner. You can also sell it, or freecycle.org it away from your life. A plant stand isn’t a bad idea, and you could stick a poster to the front, so visitors know it’s out of commission.

Wait a minute. Aren’t we fighting the Teleban over in Afghanistan?

That’s the Taliban, Sheena ;-)
