Today [Friday] is a big day. Not only are there just 6969 days left until Canada’s New Conservative Government sets national air quality targets, it’s also the last day to vote for Abandoned Stuff in the Canadian Blog Awards. Coincidence? I think not. Oh, and some party is electing a leader today too, big whoop, eh?
How did I know how many days are left? Well I have this fancy air quality counter on the side of my blog, and noticed it on the side of Anth’s blog too.
December 1st is also Ban TV Day

This is the first Ban TV Day ever, and I don’t have any events planned because I just thought of it Thursday [tonight as I write this]. If you can think of any way to celebrate, please let me know. I hope to make it a semi-annual event, but if it’s popular maybe monthly.
You can maybe call your cable or satellite provider and have them scale back or disconnect your service. With the left over money you can buy something that doesn’t destroy your children’s lives. That’s what the Internet is for. So put your kids and/or yourself online, so we can feed off your energ… ahhh, I mean so we can entertain and educate you.
But phone your TV provider after you vote for me, Harper Valley, The Galloping Beaver, Off The Grid, and Olaf, eh?

I still haven’t hooked up cable and we don’t get any channels. I have been adhering to this ban tv very well.

Very good Rose. I too have no cable or satellite. My DSL provides more than enough time wasting capabilities when at home.

I could break all the TV’s in the campus student lounges….thats a celebratory activity, right?

The Teleban doesn’t condone violence, but if you convinced the campus to only show PBS and CBC, that would be a start.

PBS and CBC . . . well, then you wouldn’t have to break the TV’s . . . everyone else would do it for you.
Cheers,
