If this were a national poll, the Saskatchewan Liberals would be in line for many seats, but because this is provincial first past the post politics, the Liberals are in a battle to pick up even a handful. Right now, the party has no seats in the legislature, being wiped out with just 15% popular vote, by a nasty divisive campaign run by the NDP and Sask Party in 2003. In a recent byelection, David Karwacki came in second place in behind the Sask Party in an urban/rural riding of Weyburn-Big Muddy.

No Link- I’m busy. Here’s what I have.
“According to the poll - conducted with over 2,000 Canadian adults — meaning an impressive margin of error of only 2.2 per cent - the results for Saskatchewan as of October 2,006 are as follows:
Sask Party 44%
NDP 31%
Liberal 25%
The poll shows the Liberal Party in Saskatchewan up 6% since June, 2006, and well on our way to overtaking the NDP for second spot! Obviously Saskatchewan voters want change – the right kind of change - and are prepared to vote Liberal.

is the sask party like the PQ (basically, are they a seperatist party, only for saskatchwan instead of quebec)?
I’m sorry if it’s a stupid question, but i’ve been following politcs for years now, but mostly in my home province (NS). I have only recently heard of the sask party, and know nothing about them…
also, where is the post about ambrose’s speech?

There you are Fawn. Sorry Lance, still no link for you :-)
The Sask Party is the old PC party, and some Sask Liberals thrown in, when the Tories were sunk by Devine, and other turmoil hit in the mid 90s. It’s complicated, but actually interesting with many plotlines. Not seperatists, just conservative.
