Is it just me, or is it a bit rich of a professional pontificator [Andrew Coyne], who makes a living giving people his opinion in national newspapers and national television programs, to insinuate that a blogger [Jason Cherniak] is being too “self-involved” on his own blog!?!?
While I often disagree with Jason, it’s amusing for a pro-writer/blogger to harp on another for blogging about themselves. In a related vein [pun intended] it’s a riot reading Garth.ca right now too because of that kind of attitude. All those Blogging Tories are harping on Garth for being too sensational and proud of his blog driven communication with voters. They are seriously just jealous that he can get the media attention for his blog (and thus constituency) while they are ignored by the media. It’s jealousy at its most
blatant.

And speaking of jealousy, Olaf over at Prairie Wranglers was jealous of my self promotion and cool prize, so he’s tried to top it by offering a [fake] car to the people who vote the most for his blog in the Canadian Blog Awards. Since Olaf has a good blog, and is the only Conservative blog I can read without certainty of getting angry, I encourage you to vote for his blog.
While on the topic of the CBAs, Jason has posted something interesting at Progressivebloggers.ca. It seems the administrator of the CBAs called Jason a “wanker” at some point. I am not suggesting there’s a theme developing in how people perceive Jason online. The fallout has something to do with the bad blood created last year during a blog scandal that was blown out of proportion after Robert the CBA administrator used an anti-semitic comment to make a sarcastic point about something. Robert became frustrated that some bloggers used the quote out of context to flame him, and thus petty sniping ensued from both sides.

It is hard to disagree with the idea that Jason Cheriak is a self centered little jerk off.
He’s a lawyer, and he can’t affor to put up his own delegate fee for the Fiberal convention? Give me a break. And then he has got his little kudos “quote” section.
Give it up. This guy exemplifies this “backroom, members only” mentality of the Liberal party.

CdnPatriot, even if Jason is self centered, why are you so Jason-centered?
Perhaps he can afford the delegate fee, but he’s clever enough to have others do it for him - nothing wrong with that. I have a quote section. Right now it’s just 1 long, but usually they are funny. If you got quoted by the media, wouldn’t you want people to know you’ve had recognition from peers?

Hmmmm. People who self-publish are interested in getting their message heard. This is a startling trend.
Right up there with people who are journalists wanting to get their stories read/seen/heard, and artists wanting to get their art in front of audiences.
Methinks Coyne’s pot is calling Cherniak’s kettle black.
