Today suddenly got sad when I heard from my parents that their pet cat Mitz had died of natural causes. Mitz was a bit of an oddball cat, but he’ll be missed by everyone, possibly even by Mozart (their pet cockatiel).
Mitz’s picture graces the side of my blog, and has for years. He’s my Technorati avatar picture. He’d caused hundreds of thousands of smiles over the years, since my Mom and I crafted and photographed the first Pet Foil Hat Technology pointy foil brain-scan blocker for pets, as a joke.

Mitz wasn’t very playful, but he did like to get a rub behind the ears. It will be strange going to my parent’s home the next time, and not have to worry about cat-proofing my soft clothing. Mitz enjoyed a good chew on wool and fuzzy things - an apparently rare quirk for cats, that he picked up during stressful times with a previous owner.
RIP
Mitz the cat
Born March 26, 1994
Arrived in my life the day I discovered my dog had died while I was away on vacation.
Departed this world on October 15, 2006.

My condolences, especially to your folks. I take it they rescued him from a bad situation. People sometimes minimize the loss of a pet, but they do play a part in our lives and it’s always tough to say good bye. (More than that for me, but I know not everyone shares my view).
I’m glad that Mitz had a good life with your parents and I’m sure he’ll be missed.

LMAO. Fianal leadership debate and your blog about your parent’s cat is what appers first in Liblogs. I’m allergic to cat’s, so not to appear incencitive, but one down, two billion to go.

Ahh that sucks man. Losing pets is inevitable, but it is always a terrible thing to do go through. I’ve lost a few in my life, and I feel for ya man.

Sorry to hear about your loss. And especially a tin foil hatted cat. Glad us humans weren’t the only ones!

Je was a very high tech cat and that is commendable. I lost my old dog a little while back - these little guys really do make our lives more fun.
I read somewhere that ‘a friend is someone who makes your life better just for having known them’. I am sorry you lost your friend.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts. And Altavistagoogle, I’d say Mitz would have voted for Volpe, because he didn’t like to wear his PFHT, and thus was a little crazy.

I hate to hear about anything bad happening to any animal but it does seem like Mitz had a great life and even though he died his memory will live on through this post and the hearts of those who loved him!
