Wood Mountain Cafe reopening ; Messing with telemarketers ; Sunny day

It’s been a good season in Wood Mountain economically speaking. Whitemud has broken ground on their new kaolin mining operation, and the Wood Mountain Cafe is re-opening under new management. The Cafe in the old curling rink building closed at least five years ago, but there will be a place for coffee, tea, and good food again in the village.

More details will be on the Wood Mountain Forum within the week I’m sure.

Yes I know I’m out of focus in the photo, and the Cafe can’t be seen, but most of the village is shown.

I don’t have the heart to mess with telemarketers like this guy did, but you have to admire his performance. Convincing the marketer that they phoned a murder scene is priceless. Thanks to Fark.com for the audio.

It’s a nice warm +7 outside today, with lots of sun. I got a computer-box of carrots, turnips, beets, and parsnips from a coworker, so I’ll have to clean those up and start tucking them away in my tiny fridge. I think I’ll have to clean some old stuff out, and learn how to prepare these veggies for freezing. If I have any left over, I may have to pass some on to yet another person. Anyone need a pound or two of vegetables?
