Man-D has a point about planes I think you should read.
People will start air-raging like nobody’s business when they have no entertainment for hours in a tin tube. Sure right now you could bring a book on a plane in Canada, but they’ll ban that too when they discover that paper can be burned. But wait, clothes can be burned too! Virgin Air might take on a new meaning.
They are giving new plane seats USB ports, but taking away devices that would use them.
I’d be OK with not taking liquids onboard, but the airline would have to be more like WestJet and actually give service and free drinks frequently. This is all a distraction anyway. We will get boxed into thinking we’re safe and people will just put the bombs into stowed luggage like in the Air India bombing. Think it can’t be done? How does luggage get lost? It obviously can get onto the wrong plane without anyone noticing. And besides, no technology can stop a social engineering attack.
