I’m predicting that regular gasoline will be $1.23/L on average in Saskatchewan by the middle of August. BP shut down production in the US by 8%, so we’ll see a rise in price of about that in a week or so I figure. Let me know if I’m wrong. I’ve already filled up and plan to keep my tank that way by biking lots this week.

I paid $1.19 last Sunday in Regina.
Only up to $1.23?
Only if your lucky…

It’s 119.9¢/L right now in Yorkton. And last night it was $1.169/L in Melville which is always cheaper. So on average I think 1.23 is a touch conservative, but the radio was trying to quell fears by saying world production is only going down by less than 2% because of the BP shutdown.

It’s my opinion that gas prices are tied to whatever number the oil execs want the price to be at.
Regina Messenger @ Halifax & Railway is at $1.10/L and is on my way home from work, so I’ll probably fill up today.
/me is tired of gas prices and is tired of the oil industry.

We’re all tired of it, and you’re right it has more to do with an arbitrary number pulled from their hindquarters, than the world oil supply in the shortterm.

I’ll take responsibility for my bad prediction. I was only off by about 5¢/L ;-)
I’m glad it’s going down now though… Just in time to nail us on the long weekend.
