I happened upon Jon Stewart’s Wikipedia entry, and discovered that his middle name is Stuart, and his real last name is Leibowitz. I haven’t independently verified this fact, in the spirit of Colbert condoned truthiness research. Also, Colbert is deaf in his right ear, which might explain why he talks over people so much. It was possibly a way to deal with being partially deaf.
After writing so much about TV, I’ve finally decided to add a “television” category to my blog bringing the total to 13 categories of topics I write about. This is about 6 too many to be useful, but I never claimed my blog was useful, and if I did, I don’t now and can probably find a source on Wikipedia to back up my assertion anyway.
Here’s some poetry, because writing it amuses me.
Jon Stewart’s last name is Leibowitz
He likes to make fun of idiots
Bush, Bill O’, or Falwell
Their agenda won’t sell
And all of Jon’s viewers, they knowitz.
Friday I watched “Over the Hedge” [8/10] an entertaining animated film by the makers of Shrek. The humour was top notch, and it has a happy ending to boot. On the the opposite end of the movie spectrum was “The Omen” [6/10] which could have had a better ending, but I guess they weren’t trying to boost people’s spirits with that one. It’s a good demonstration though how anyone can justify the coming appocalypse though modern events. On Saturday morning I caught most of “Star Trek II Wrath of Kahn” [8/10] when I wasn’t watching the Daily Show and Colbert Report.

That part at the end of Over The Hedge, where the earth stops spinning and the laser beams are following the squirrel across the grass at ultra-slow speed almost friggin killed me I laughed so hard. Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it……..

That was an amazing effect - physics aside. I loved how Shatner hammed up his…voice…delay…too! Just like his famed memory technique used while playing Kirk.
