Canadians don't have to worry

Not Real Pee IAmNotAfraid.ca is a reactionary website designed to remind Internet-reading terrorists that Canadians are not afraid of them. How does it do that? Well as far as I can tell it does this by reminding average Canadians, as frequently as possible, that terrorism could strike them at any time. To combat fear we need to go to baseball games, since baseball is the natural enemy of terrorists. Eventually we will need new laws so we can deport Canadian terrorists to their grandparents’ homeland overseas, where they will be welcomed with open [fire] arms.

Guess what I’m looking at in the photo that scared me so badly, and you’ll win instructions to build a terrorism alert system! Leave a comment with your best guess. The winner is announced on Friday.

Alison, a Canadian blogger, suggested that someone create ijustwetmypants.ca, and I thought it was a good idea. After all, if Warren Kinsella can become [more] famous by reminding us that terrorists are out there somewhere, then I might become famous for reminding us that reminding everyone all the time only works to further bolster fears about terrorism.

So it is with much gusto that I say to the terrorists reading this webpage, “Go away!” and now I am leaving it to law enforcement to make sure that they do. After all, we can’t even seem to make drunk drivers or smoking go away, and we KNOW those things kill thousands of Canadians every year. Where are the baseball games to decry drunk driving and nicotine addiction? Maybe someone should organize a pub crawl to raise awareness.

There haven’t been a thousand Canadians killed by terrorism in the past 20 years, and if the RCMP and CSIS continue to do their jobs like they did this June, then we should expect another 20 years to pass without anything more than arrests on the news.
