Road closed – welcome to NDP rule ; Sask Smartest Radio Listener

Today John Gormley of CKOM.com was talking highways again.

I got to drive on Highway #310, one of the highways that was mentioned by a caller. I counted 20 flagged or not flagged holes that could swallow a car in a spray of rocks, in just 30km of driving down it. Highways trucks were zooming down the road in the other direction, probably on their way to a highway in worse condition, or at least I told myself that.

I turned down a grid thinking I’d stay on it until Strasbourg and avoid the even more hazardous highway #22 or #15, but I was confronted with a Road Closed sign a few km down the grid road. Maybe if the NDP spent more than the 57%~61% we take in with taxes and auto insurance for highways, we’d have fewer washouts and potholes. CBC talked about bad roads on the Noon Edition too. An Emma Lake restaurant can’t get milk delivered, the truck refuses to drive the road. Manitoba spends 114% of their total highway taxes on roads. That’s right, they put extra money into roads.

I finished up in Strasbourg, and headed down another grid to avoid #22 until Southey, where I snapped a couple pictures of one of the churches by the highway, and the RCMP shop across the street.

Saskatchewan Smartest Radio Listener:

Saskatchewan has had 3 of these, and the best known one is in Regina?

Some people got close, but the right answer wasn’t legislative buildings or government houses, but simply they were looking for “capital”. Fort Livingston [near Pelly], Battleford, and then finally Pile O’Bones, Regina.
